Before becoming a Book Publishing Mentor, Deborah worked as a non-fiction publishing editor for over 15 years. Her first role was as a trainee editor at Hodder & Stoughton, where she learned to edit, proofread and manage books through the publication process.

From there, she went to BBC Books, where she published with a range of celebrities, chefs and food writers as well as TV producers, scientists, actors and television presenters including Antonio Carluccio, Sophie Grigson, Tony Buzan and Sir David Attenborough.

After leaving the BBC, Deborah went to Cassell to work as a commissioning editor. Here, she doubled the value of her list to £1.5 million in just 18 months and commissioned books with Oxfam, Cordon Bleu and Outward Bound as well as a bestselling book on feng shui. Since leaving publishing, Deborah has started Book-Launch Your Business, which aims to help business owners, experts, trainers, speakers and other specialists share their knowledge by self-publishing books that generate income.
